Hi there,

I have come across the same error.  I was getting it when I was restarting
the Apache HTTP server whilst an old JServ process was still running on the
machine - I assume it was hogging the address so that the new JServ process
was unable to start up correctly.

I'm am getting the following errors in my apache log
files.

"ApacheJServ/1.1.2: Exception creating the server
socket: java.net.BindException: Address already in
use"


Here is the context i am using jserv in:

os: Linux 2.2.14-VA.2.1smp
jdk: IBMJava2-13 jdk1.3 & JSDK2.0
www: apache_1.3.14
jserv: ApacheJServ-1.1.2
servlet: cocoon-1.8.1

My cocoon pages compile extremely fast for the first
couple of requests (around 4 or 5), then the server
stops completely.

Please help if you can shed some light on this!
