*Senior Database Architect*
*Responsibilities:* § Responsible for all aspects of database architecture and design, query optimization, performance tuning, capacity planning, scalability, fault tolerance, data security, disaster recovery, and construction and implementation of a large scale and complex database. § Develops logical and physical data models, data dictionary, and entity relationship ER diagrams. § Works as part of the core architecture team as to design the entire system including the web tier, application tier, and database tier. § Responsible for creating tables, stored procedures, triggers, views, user defined functions, etc. § Responsible for planning, developing migration scripts and testing data conversion and migration from Oracle to SQL Server 2005. § Be able to work independently with minimum supervision. § Will be required to work collaboratively with the internal Data base and Network Infrastructure staff through out the life of the project. § Provides formal or informal white board training/mentoring sessions with internal technical support staff to facilitate a transfer of knowledge deliverable. A designated number of work-hours will be allocated to this deliverable and will be performed over the life of the project § Provides weekly progress/status reports or at the frequency designated by the Project Manager. *Skills Set - Required:* § Minimum of 48 months experience as a Database Architect on minimum of two successful projects which use Online and Batch transactions. § Minimum of 48 months experience leading large and complex SQL Server database design projects; hands-on SQL Server database administration experience in a large, clustered SQL Server environment. § Minimum of 48 months of experience in SQL Server database modeling, design, development, and performance monitoring/tuning; minimum of 12 months experience with SQL Server 2005. § Experience with query performance tuning of a database environment that handles large number of concurrent users. § Data conversion experience on a minimum of two successful implementations where data was converted or migrated from Oracle to SQL Server. § A strong background in database design and normalization methodologies. § Expertise with relational database concepts, stored procedures, triggers and performance / scalability analysis; proven track record in building and implementing highly scalable / performing/ 24x7 database applications. § Certified MS SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA). *Skills Set - Preferred:* § Experience as the Database Architect on a minimum of two successful implementations with health-related large scale database system. § Minimum 24 months experience with of HL7 and/or Public Health Information Network (PHIN) standards. § Minimum 24 months experience with Oracle databases. § Certified Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). § Hands on experience with caching, partitioning, clustering and load balancing. § Experience with SQL Server 2005 Integration Services and data de-duplication techniques. § Experience with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. *Duration:* The anticipated start date is mid-October, 2008.
