Position Description
- The Corporate Technology group is working on a major data
warehousingproject requiring Web Services development skills. The project
involvesbuilding reporting data marts, standardized reference data
dimensions withversions.
- Project covers a broad range of usage includingCompliance/Regulatory
Reporting, Financial Reporting, Operational andManagement Reporting. The
project will leverage advanced database.
- technologies such as *metadata, multithreading, parallel access* and
load
- principles, open architecture leveraging *XML protocol* and Web
development.
- Participate in the design, development and deployment of the *ETL and
data*
- management processes.
- Develop and deploy *ETL* job workflow with reliable error/exception
handling and rollback framework Support operations by identifying,
researching and resolving performance and production issues.
- Perform the unit testing, system integration testing and assist the
business analysts with user acceptance testing Document *ETL design and
test results *
- The candidate should be self-motivated and have a proven record of
managing their own time and work. He/She will need to provide regular
- status reporting to their manager and be able to assess potential
issues and risks to project timelines.
Skills Required
- 5+ years of *Java J2EE and core Java programming skills*
- 5 + years Web-based software *development experience*
- 5+ years of develop mentprimarily in Web services
- Excellent Object-Oriented analysis and design skills (*OOA/OOD) 2-5
years of XML (DTD, Schema, XSLT, and Native XMLdatabases)* are required
Proficiency in other languages such as *C++, Perl, *JavaScript, and so on
is a plus
- Experience working with relational databases such as *Sybase and
JDBC/Hibernate is a plus *
- Experience writingcode in high volume, *Service Oriented Architectures
(SOA) using Web Services *and* SOAP *
- Experience designing high-performance, scalable architectures
- Understanding of system and application performance limits and
characteristics
- Team player with ability to work productively with internal and
external clients and to translate requirements into solutions
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written self-starter
that drives tasks to completion B.S. in Computer Science or a related
- field
Skills Desired
- Familiarity with frameworks such as *Spring, Hibernate, and Ruby on
Rails*
is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast paced and *Agile development* environment
