Job Title: Systems Analyst Adv, Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 8 Months Rate: ALAP Start Date: 4/13/2009 Estimated End Date: 12/31/2009 *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Extract data from a variety of mainframe, DB2, SQL environments for internal business use or transfer to external vendors Relational database redesign to meet business needs Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop technical solution to meet business needs. Both for short-term ad-hoc projects and longer-term strategic projects. Develop in-depth understanding of a variety of Medicare Advantage files, both their technical design and the meaning of fields and values within these fields Link a variety of Medicare Advantage files on a variety of platforms including mainframe, DB2, and SQL environments, for data extraction and for use by analysts Mentor colleagues/ help write complex SAS, SQL, Access queries when the business needs exceed their knowledge level. *EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:* 1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. 2. Minimum five (5) years related experience preferred. *OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* 1. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. 2. A high proficiency level in specific job related skills is required. 3. Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise. 4. Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
