*Duration: 4 Months* *Local candidates only!* Due to an increase in workload, client is seeking to augment their *Database Administration* team with a *Database Administrator III* experienced in supporting high-availability, enterprise-wide *Microsoft SQL Server 2005 installations*. Experience with *Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and/or PostgreSQL 8.x databases is a plus.* Duties will include physical database design and implementation; planning and performing database upgrades and deployments; performance monitoring and tuning; designing, testing and performing backup and recovery procedures; automating database installation and maintenance procedures; advising developers on database access methods and syntax. *In addition to experience performing the duties described above, applicants experience must include:* (a) Responsibility for the *operational integrity and security of enterprise-wide production Microsoft SQL Server infrastructures;* (b) Monitoring *database infrastructures using SNMP and/or SYSLOG protocols and tools;* (c) *A working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows command shell, experience with PowerShell is a plus;* (d) Preparing written technical architecture and design documents.
