Position : Cognos Developer
Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 2-3 Months
Rate: $50/HR

The Cognos Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining Cognos
reports from relational and multi-dimensional data sources.
Education/Experience
Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree
preferred.
5+ years Cognos experience required
Responsibility level
Self-motivated, creative, dynamic individual with a positive attitude able
to work with minimal direction from supervisor
Skills
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention
to detail and interpersonal skills (Required)
Ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive
performance feedback (Required)
Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of
Cognos data models and reports (Required)
Knowledge of Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager, Report Studio and Transformer
(Required)
Strong SQL skills for development of custom SQL and reporting views
(Required)
Demonstrated experience with web application development using ASP.NET and
JavaScript (Required)
Knowledge of Cognos 8.4 Metric Studio and Event Studio (Preferred)
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Interact with business unit users for requirement gathering and development
process
Use Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager to build models, packages and publish
packages
Use Cognos 8.4 Report Studio to develop standard and complex reports
Create cubes based on business requirements and create the related
drill-through reports
Mentor other developers for support of newly created reports
Create technical specifications and documentation
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English
