Expert iSeries (V6R1 or V7R1) 2.Big System Experience 3.Experience with Data Replication Tools Plus: Eyedoctor (Performance Tool) BRMS Exposure to Authority Broker or Power Tech Job Description: JOB TITLE: Senior iSeries Engineer I. Job Summary: The Senior iSeries engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and support of the iSeries platform. This position will work both independently and interdependently on a variety of complex projects and support tasks. This role’s primary responsibility is to ensure that production is available 24 x 7, and will perform appropriate maintenance and corrective actions in that environment. This position will also interact with development groups, end users, business partners, and all relevant parties involved in this environment. II. Accountabilities: 1. Ensure the integrity of the iSeries platform and overall health on a day to day basis. 2. Perform scalability and capacity planning for the environments and make recommendations to support growth and improve performance. 3. Performance advanced administration and troubleshooting. 4. Coordinate and perform software and hardware upgrades and fixes as required. 5. Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning. 6. Provide 24 x 7 on-call support on a scheduled basis for the iSeries platform. 7. Assist with application upgrade cycle of applications on the platform. 8. Assist with efforts to drive change in the environment including articulating the business case, cost/benefit analysis, vendor analysis and detailed implementation plans. 9. Work closely with application areas to understand their existing needs and future requirements and include those needs in infrastructure plans. III. Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work expereince. 2. At least 6 years working with IT infrastructure technologies, including AS400/iSeries and DBMS. 3. Solid experience in data replication sychranzation software. 4. Excellent communicator and collaborator, striving for “Win-Win” scenarios. Experience workin with distributed teams. 5. Strong problem solving and business analysis skills. 6. Excellent documentation skills.
