Job Description:

Applies specialized knowledge to conceptualize, design, develop, unit-test,
configure, and implement portions of new or enhanced (upgrades or
conversions) business and technical software solutions for Data Warehouse,
Data Marts, Reporting using Agile software development life cycle
methodologies and processes. Interacts with the Client and project roles
(e.g., Project Manager, Business Analyst, Data Engineer) as required, to
gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context, and
organizational strategic direction. Defines scope, plans, and deliverables
for assigned components. Understands and uses appropriate tools to analyze,
identify, and resolve business and or technical problems. Applies metrics
to monitor performance and measure key project parameters. Prepares system
documentation. Conforms to security and quality standards. Stays current on
emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.

Job Qualifications:
• Designs and monitors construction of an enterprise data warehouse,
working with a team of developers.
• Designs and monitors construction of user-facing presentation tools, such
as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
• Designs and monitors construction of Enterprise Transformation Language
(ETL) processes.
• Establishes and implements standards and strategies for data management,
lifecycle, and quality.
• Explains and teaches business intelligence and data warehouse concepts
throughout the company.
• Defines best practices and standards for the data modeling process.
• Creates and maintains the logical and physical data models for the
production and Business Intelligence data warehouse and data marts.
• Participates in data design walkthroughs to communicate data warehouse
and Data Mart table designs to ETL developers.
• Develops prototype views and reports of the data, and work with business
users both internal and external to refine their requirements.
• Demonstrates self-reliance in researching technical solutions and product
functionality.
• Continuously improves upon existing approaches by seeking opportunity to
creatively transform current business practices into fresh alternative
solutions.
• Identifies critical integration issues and develop corrective solutions.
• Communicates with team members to assess progress of deliverables.
• Performs maintenance and administration of the database platforms and
data protection needs as they relate to the database platforms and
solutions.
• Conducts performance tuning of existing data structures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Typically a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a
minimum of 6 years related experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of
4 years of experience.

Job Specific Skills/Special Functions:
• Experience working in Microsoft SQL Server and the Microsoft Business
Intelligence Stack (SSRS, SSAS and SSIS)
• Strong experience designing relational and multi-dimensional models
• Knowledge of administration of SQL Server and Oracle for transactional
and analysis systems
• Third normal and Star Schema design
• Knowledge of SharePoint Integration for SQL Server Reporting Services
• Able to work remotely for distributed development teams.
• Specific Knowledge of Software Configuration Change Management (SCCM) and
Deployment Requirements for BI/DW Projects
• Strong business and process skills
• Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective
presentation skills
• Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative
• Experience on Agile and Waterfall project life cycles.
• Basic understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test
scripting, and testing methodologies.
• Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse,
Visual Studio). Strong understanding basic Database Administration.
• Able to apply consistently quality and security standards.
