BTW, I added new fields to Lucene for "New" issues and "Patch 
        Available".

Cool. Shows up on the create and edit pages which seem to be the most
important.

It won't show up when creating a filter unless the filter already has
"Lucene Java" specified in the first entry because it's a per-project
field. When one selects "Lucene Java", a little javascript-y thing comes
up that does a refresh then the checkboxes are at the bottom.

Fields don't show up as a status in Project Summary, but I don't care
too much about that.

I've been trying to figure out if there's a way to generate a global
preset query for them, but the only thing I've found was a Jira Jira
issue saying that it's possible in 3.7 and we seem to be running 3.6.2.

It's possible to create a filter and save it individually. People with
the right permissions can share filters:
