The sleep aims at systems with rough clock resolution (5ms). Sleep 5ms would
probably suffice, but sleep 100ms seemed safer.
Preferring cautious (don't fix where not desired/required) over completness
(developers running this on Fat32 (if such exist)) seems ok to me.
