a rough variation on Michael's latest patch that makes the changes along two of
the lines i was suggesting before reagrding FilterIndexReader and ising
"instanceof Cloneable" instead of "isCloneSupported()" two important things to
note:
1) i didn't change any of the documentation, i was trying to change as little
aspossibel so the two patches could be compared side-by-side
2) this patch is currently broken. TestIndexReaderReopen gets an exception i
can't understand ... but i have to stop now, and i wanted to post what i had in
case people had comments.
...now that i've done this exercise, i'm not convinced that it's a better way
to go, but it does seem like isCloneSupported isn't neccessary, that's the
whole point of the Cloneable interface.
