You do not need to map to long, if you would use negative integers as marker
for in between. So doc 0 has -1, doc 1 has -2, doc 2 has -3,..., doc (2^31-1 ==
Integer.MAX_VALUE) would have (-2^32 == Integer.MIN_VALUE)
Just an idea.
