Thanks Mark. FWIW, when I generate a patch (with "svn diff") that is near the
$Id$ tag, I too cannot apply the patch. So it seems like "svn diff" has some
"smarts" whereby it un-expands a keyword, thus screwing up patch. We really
need that "svn patch" command... (which IIRC is coming in an upcoming svn
release).
