We had a discussion about that in another issue. In general PriorityQueue of 
Java 1.5 does not have the features we need for Lucene (it dynamically grows, 
but the grow process is not controllable, making it unuseable for collecting 
TopDocs and so on). But I think for this special case, we could use Java 5's PQ.
