What are you trying to achieve? The link you put is a link to the
NetBeans platform version 5. That has nothing to do with declaring a
new server in NetBeans. And it is not likely to work with another
version of NetBeans.

To declare a new server, right click Server in NetBeans, tab Services.
Select Add Server...
Give it a meaningful name (not the one that exists already).
Then reply to the questions: location of the server (where you put the
new server; it should point to the directory where glassfish directory
is installed); domain (put domain1, it is the domain created by
default); username and password for the admin console (by default
admin, adminadmin respectively);
Then when you want to try it with an application, choose this server
by the name you give to it.
