To Whomever can help,
I am fairly new to Linux, so please excuse my ignorance. Am am also
just beginning with JAVA but it is becoming a must for my work. I have
quite a bit of C++, C++ Builder 3.0 experience on DOS/Win32 pIatforms so
things look some what familiar in java. I was going to try and get a free
head start with java by trying Freebuilder.org' s java IDE but have run
into a stumbling block. Their web site claims that Blackdown.org contains
the Linux port of both JDK and Swing. The problem is that I can only find
the JDK. Am I looking in the wrong place ? Is swing now part of the jdk
1.1.7 ? Since JavaSoft claims that swing 1.1 is 100% java code, is it the
case that I simply download it from their site. I am really confused at
this point......any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
