This raises an interesting question. Is there a way to encapsulate the
glibc-specific pieces in some non-SCSL hunk of source?
It's clear that the actual bugs prevent the JDK from being fully supported
on the guilty glibc versions (as well they should), but having some way
to run with the older libraries can be a stopgap for those users having
trouble keeping up on the glibc release treadmill.
