Kevin, I've worked a bit with Enhydra. Seems nice and supports most Java stuff. If I may utter a minor blasphemy in this list server I recently put up a collaborative site in 10 working days (across 5 weeks) with a product called Zope (www.zope.org) it is not Java based though. It is written in Python and uses Python and its own scripting. While I was a Java developer for the four years leading up to about a year ago (and occasionally still use Java) one always has to look at the problem space and select tools based on the need. I have narrowed things down to Enhydra or Jboss.
