Title: Interactive Designer Location: Newark, NJ Duration: 2 months with possible extensions Company Profile: We are a fast-paced and technology evolving web services department within Prudential. We’ve created and maintain 60+ internet, intranet, and extranet sites and continue to enhance them daily or over an extended timeframe with a team committed to a strategic redesign. We work with Prudential’s major lines of businesses such as life insurance, real estate, annuities, mutual funds, retirement services, many institutional investment functions to internal operational groups such as human resources, global communications, branding, advertising, technology, and even non-profit functions, etc. Requirements: A motivated self-starter with at least 3-5 years of listening to business and project goals and answering with an interactive design solution. Your resume must include an online portfolio or links which exhibits: • Strong understanding of interactive design principles and how to engage viewers by good contextual design • Understanding of how to make clear design decisions to reinforce a positive and successful user experience • Strong understanding of taking designs and turning them into interactive prototypes • Proficient in XHTML/CSS Project Overview In today’s market place, customers expect companies to offer electronic ways to manage their account. As the lead designer you will be asked to create design mockups to provide a clear and easy way for account holders to do this successfully. Responsibilities & Expectations • Ability to interpret and create intuitive design mockups based on wireframe concepts and an existing design framework • Has ability to work independently and with time constraints • Produce Photoshop files that are well organized, and flexible for extensive usage • Create production-ready mockups for developers to use for CSS integration • Available during normal business hours • Progress reviews and check-ins with Creative Director & Design Manager twice a week Required Skills & Knowledge • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and exhibit strong communication skills to help provide synergy, timeliness and quality of work • Exhibit strong sense of design through the use of color usage, graphical treatments, and text layout while developing user-friendly interfaces. • Expertise in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Illustrator to create glowing comprehensive design mockups. • Ability to animate in Flash or ImageReady. • Knowledgeable of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions • A good eye and judge for color and graphical treatments along with the ability to enhance photos/graphics. • Ability to be creative while working conforming to style or development guidelines and standards • Experience working with a content management and system development groups • Ability to work within following languages is a plus but not required.
