I have a new requirement for a Java Developer in Austin, TX that I thought

Contract length –   August 31, 2011 (Good possibility of an extension)

Rate - $50

*Description:*

Currently, the Division for Blind Services (DBS) and Division for
Rehabilitation Services (DRS) have collaborated on a new, web-based Case
Management system known as ReHabWorks (RHW).  RHW is used by case workers in
state-wide field offices to create and manage cases for procurement and
delivery of consumer support services.  RHW also collects the information
required for preparing State and Federal reports, and interfaces with
several State and Federal systems.



The following describes the services an awarded vendor could be asked to
provide while working with the DARS Information Resources (IR) Application
Development & Support Team in managing this project.



The Scope-of-Work could include, but is not limited to the following tasks
listed below. The analysis, decision-making, and documentation activities
shall be developed with assistance and input from key DARS management and
technical and other parties deemed appropriate by DARS IR.



·         *Develop Web based Java applications:* Work with the DARS IR
Application Development & Support Team to develop, test, and deploy software
applications in Java, via WebLogic on an Informix back-end.  Monitoring and
performance enhancements will be conducted and defined via WILY.  These
applications shall adhere to DARS IR standards utilizing DARS standardized
SOA architecture.





Required Skills:

·         Experience developing and maintaining Web based Java
applications using Eclipse

·         Experience in creating and maintaining complex SQL is required.
Candidate should be able to write queries involving Group By, Having
Clauses. Understanding of nested queries is a plus

·         Experience optimizing complex SQL is required.  Candidate should
be able to improve execution and performance of complex application based
SQL.

·         A very clear understanding of Object Oriented programming
including Polymorphism, Inheritance, Interfaces etc.

·         A strong understanding of Java Data structures and a basic
understanding of how these data structure perform during run time

·         A very clear understanding of Threads and concurrent programming

·         Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, and WILY is a plus, but not
required

·         Experience in designing application, including defining Object
model, Business Interfaces, Object Database Interaction

·         Experience with a complete life cycle development, including
migration issues, of an Enterprise Java application is required

·         Experienced at problem solving and troubleshooting, and able to
demonstrate clear, concise, effective verbal and written communication
skills

·         With web-based apps, if via Weblogic, even better.

·         BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination
of education and relevant experience required
