Job Role: Weblogic Admin Duration: Short Term Contract( 2- 3 Weeks) Location: Oakland, CA Immediate Start Up Need Local Rate: $60 - 70 /hr on C2C Requirement: My client is looking for someone who can come in and troubleshoot two WebSphere/WebLogic technical issues that they are having. They would like to see LOCAL Candidates only - and the person must be able to start immediately - this is a PT short term contract Here is a description from one of the Principle Architects - of both tech problems they are experiencing *General Description of the Environment:* We have three J2EE applications that are part of our product suite and all three can be deployed into WebLogic 9 & 10, WebSphere 6, and Tomcat 6 containers. Our main application is using the Struts 1.3 Web application framework, various javascript frameworks like prototype and ExtJS, and various open source java libraries like log4J, Apache Commons Lang and other similar libraries. The other two applications are web services that use the Apache Axis 1.4 framework. We have done only very generic integration with all the web application containers we use and have done no direct integration with any container. Our applications can use the containers database connection pool if so configured. Additionally, our main application can defer user authentication to the container. *Problems:* 1. on WebSphere we deploy our three applications, but if the main application is started before the web services, the web services do not operate. So there is some interaction between the web applications going on. Changing the class loading options to parent first or parent last does not seem to effect this problem. This is our current critical issue. 2. We have inconsistent results getting our applications to work correctly when using different versions of WebSphere and to a lesser extent WebLogic. Depending on the containers exact version, we have had class loading problems on startup of the applications, for example the Apache Commons Lang Java library has caused problems before. We were using a more recent version of this library that was in WebSphere.
