Title: Java Architect Location: Westborough, MA (01580) Duration: 6+ Months Description: The Principle Engineer is responsible for planning and designing the application architecture, participating in complex and/or high-profile development projects or initiatives simultaneously. This position will provide sound project and organizational leadership governing the design, development and architecture of java based solutions on a BI platform. Research and Development organization is converting and expanding its applications portfolio utilizing J2EE based technologies and needs an experienced and motivated Principal Software Engineer. The ideal candidate for this position will have senior level and hands-on expertise and experience in full lifecycle of developing complex software applications with Java, XML, SOA, on Enterprise Application Servers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead architectural/technical vision Lead architecture and development team in implementing architecture Develops and documents new design patterns that are required for the implementation of defined solution architecture. Works and consults with product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to create software products containing required features and modifications. Participates as a functional team member in full software development lifecycles including design, coding, testing, and implementation and auditing. Mentor and train staff in new technologies and architecture Provide technical consulting to internal and external customers Take responsibility in more complex development assignments QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required (Masters preferred), preferably BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS or equivalent work experience A minimum of 5 years of software design and development experience Hands-on experience with a minimum of at least 3 of the five following applications: Apache, WebLogic Suite; SOA Suite; XML, Web Services, GWT, MVC, Seam Framework. Expert knowledge of Java/J2EE. Application development experience on a BI Platform is a Plus, in particular Microstrategy SDK Thanks for your time!
