Position:Business Analyst Locattion:Tampa, FL Duration:3+months Description: The Business Analyst is a liaison between the project sponsor/business and US IT. The Business Analyst serves the mission-critical function of understanding the specific business needs, determining and documenting accurate requirements and presenting these requirements in a manner that is agreeable, measurable and flexible enough to meet project and stakeholder needs. This role will focus on the analysis phase for key projects. This includes facilitating requirements gathering sessions, preparing analysis documentation, such as business process diagrams, use cases, etc and working with the QA team during integration and UAT testing. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Document business requirements, including use cases, to ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's needs and to minimize requirement defects up front prior to implementation. Develop functional specifications. Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with both the business and various US IT stakeholders. Where necessary, create test plans, answer questions from testers, perform pre-UAT testing, document and track issues, ensure resolution of issues. Work with the project manager to help prioritize development efforts and negotiate deadlines with the business. Use formal development methodology and work closely with technical staff to formulate solutions to meet business requirements. Participate in System Integration and User Acceptance testing of new releases and custom modifications. Play a key role in the evaluation of change requests to insure they are properly understood, documented, integrated with existing application functionality or recommend modifications that will be consistent with the direction of the application. Participate in the issues resolution and change control processes. Collaborate with the project manager to understand how change requests will impact the delivery process. Job Requirements: Strong business analysis skills, including facilitation skills and a thorough understanding of analysis deliverables (including UML artifacts and how they relate to the development process.) Demonstrated technical and leadership expertise in application development and project management in distributed systems and web technologies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team. Strong technology acumen and track record of hands-on implementations across multiple technologies. Ability to translate technical data and concepts and communicate them to non-technical personnel. Strong skills in both technology and business domains. Creative and practical in managing the relationship between the two. An understanding of the leading edge technologies, and the role that information technology can play in implementing corporate strategies.Proven success in complex problem analysis and resolution in an environment requiring superior negotiating and conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of senior-level executives, both internal and external. Self-confident yet respectful of others and willing to utilize the resources available in order to provide a quality service to the client. Capable of diplomatically taking control and driving a team toward a common goal during requirements meetings. Commitment to professional growth; seeks opportunities for development; expected to share knowledge with others. Ability to develop work approach and project plans to meet client requirements, manage and monitor progress of plan Ability to work with the details as well as the big picture. Strong background in implementing enterprise initiatives on a large scale. Working knowledge of middleware, J2EE, XML and webservices Knowledge of KM and related technologies a plus. Knowledge of Casewise, RequisitePro, Test Director a plus. Productivity, initiative, professionalism, customer service attitude, attention to detail and quality, ability to multitask, team focus, strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and adherence to firm and US IT standard operating procedures. Proven ability in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with business units, development organizations, release management and related organizations. Developing and maintaining knowledge on the latest technologies and off-the-shelf applications for the business domains you support and establishing how such technologies can be assimilated into application environment. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Ability to proactively manage workload and identify opportunities for additional contribution. Familiarity or experience with Project Management skills. Excellent client service skills. Ability to organize, plan and carry out complex assignments. Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines and firm schedules.
