RAMDirectory and Serializable

Hello,

I would like to add RAMDirectory to another machines' FSDirectory
Can I treat a RAMDirectory as Serializable ?

I found RAMDirectory and Serializable discussion a long time ago in the dev 
list.
But I cound find the answer.
