Alternatively, get a stack of RamSan and call it a day: http://www.ramsan.com/products/products.htm If you cannot afford these, something like Sun's storage server is a pretty cost effective solution: http://www.oracle.com/us/products/servers-storage/servers/x64/031210.htm Personally, I would stay away from a SAN based solution and favor local storage.
