Sorry ... I found the answer in the FAQ right after I posted ... change this
to "does anyone have a workaround?"
We have an application that uses a command line and would like to allow the
user to specify the printer name. Supposedly the old "PrintJob" mechanism
allowed this (however I have not been able to make it work yet).
Again, sorry for the pre-mature post!
Jim

Subject: [JAVA2D] Specifying a printer
Does anyone know of a way (using the Java2D printing mechanism) to specify
the name of a printer without using the print dialog? Is this even
possible?
I am using JDK 1.3 on NT and Sun
Thanks in advance!
Jim
