Hi,
I'm realatively new to fonts and was wondering if any of you can help me with this. I understand that j2re supports 2 types of physical fonts - TrueType and PostScript Type 1 fonts. My component takes needs to be able to write a .bdf font onto the graphic.
My question is - does anyone have any idea how can I get the jre to pick up Binary Distribution Fonts (.bdf) from the system on which it is running.
The BDF fonts will usually be installed on a unix system.
Do I have to write a special class to do so and what should I be aiming to do.
I have searched the Java 2D forums but cannot find any hints as to how this would be done.
Does anyone have experience with this ? Hints ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Foley
