Ok, I bought a 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI video card (my machine doesn't have an
AGP) , thinking that my Java3D app running in a window (on NT) would get a
nice graphics performance boost. Imagine my surprise when the graphics
performance of my app was no better with the new card than with my old,
tired 2Mb Matrox Mystique. Why??? 3dfx's OpenGL ICD (whatever that stands
for) seemed to be in good shape and was definitely installed. Could someone
please explain to me how OpenGL/Java3D hardware acceleration works for these
inexpensive video cards (such as the Voodoo3) or point me to some on-line
source (such as a review) that does the same?

Thanks,

-Burns
