Hi everybody,
I created an object, consisting of several smaller boxes, created by
QuadArrays. The problem arises, when I try to rotate the box, then I get
some really strange rendering results. The edges of the objects are cut of
or
some, not all, of the smaller boxes are not displayed.
I searched in the archives and found a mail from Daniel Selman, in
which he is describing a problem with QuadArray. Can this have something
to do with my problem, since my boxes are created with QuadArrays?
To add my opinion about Java3D. I had no knowledge about 3D Graphics in
computer science at all, before I tried Java3D. Thats why I am asking
ignorant questions. But with the help of the tutorial and this newsgroup,
I was able to get my still simple application working. I guess it will
become harder, when I try more complicated things.
Thanks for your help.
Desiree

Subject: All QuadArrays disappear when 0,0,0 not in view?
My original post:
Hello everybody,
I have a Quader, which consists from several layers of Shape3D. When I try
to rotate the object I get strange rendering results. I am attaching 3
screenshots, the first is the quader I would love to see all the time. The
other are the effects I do not understand. First I thougth it might has
something to do with the front an back clipping distances, but these are
the values for the screenshot examples:
front 0.026723915100097657 back 66.80978775024414 ratio 2500.0
What is causing this effect?
Thanks for your help in advance.
