I've run some tests on the granularity of System.currentTimeMillis() on
various platforms and obtained the following results
Windows 98 NT 2000 Solaris 8
50ms 10ms 10ms 1ms
I've raised this as a high priority Bug against JDK 1.4, the bugId is 4423429.
If you care about this issue add your comments and vote for it on java.sun.com
The more customer feedback/support we get for this issue the more likely we
are to get a fix.
