We are experiencing
a problem installing Java 3D 1.2.1 (OpenGL) on a Windows ME machine with Java
1.3.1. Whenever we run the installer, it completes without actually
installing anything, so Java 3D doesn't work. Specifically, the installer
doesn't ask for a JRE to install to: it simply performs some disk activity and
exits, with no files installed. Is this a known problem, and is there a
workaround? (besides manually copying the files)
Note that this
problem appears to be limited to Windows ME with Java 1.3.1. I am
certain that someone else must have experienced this problem, but I couldn't
find any information at the J3D.org site or the mailing list archive (which was
not working). Thanks for any information.
