CVS is a piece of software for doing code version maintenance. CVS
stands for Concurrent Versioning System. You can find software that
speaks the CVS protocols at
http://www.cvshome.org/
In particular, as a Windows user you will probably want to have a look
at software called WinCVS as this presents a nice graphical front end.
As for the not clear bit, I'll fix that up!
