Actually, it serves as a nice way to segue into a topic I've been mulling over for months now - do people think it would be appropriate for the j3d.org site to have a list nettiqute page? It would do all the standard stuff and put in a few more specific pointers - eg attachments OK, but only if you keep them under some size (eg 100K). etc. The reason I've been debating this with myself, is that I'm not sure how many newbie j3d programmers would actually make it to that page before starting to send stuff to this list. Sort of barn-door and horse problem. My gut feel of the people using j3d.org are programmers that have already started to do some j3d programming and want to get some tips. Not too many first-time newbies. That my be due to the current contents, but that's how I feel it is mostly being used so far. As for the specifics of my post, well that's just me. If you speak to me in real life, you will find that I have exactly the same personality and speach style. I'm not about sucking up to people and if there is something wrong I'll say something about it. I don't care if it offends some people. There's somewhere between 2500 and 3000 people on this list, (so that one mail cost Sun something around 15GB in traffic). I'm not going to please everyone no matter how hard I try, and I'm not going to attempt to either. BTW - I deliberately skipped the classes on politics.... -- Justin Couch http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/ Freelance Java Consultant http://www.yumetech.com/ Author, Java 3D FAQ Maintainer http://www.j3d.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Look through the lens, and the light breaks down into many lights.
