Hi, This was announced on j3dfly-interest a few days ago, I thought it might be of interest to the wider community, hence the repost......
The beta release of Java 3D Fly Through 2.0 is available from this site http://java3d.netbeans.org, under the files tab. For those of you at Siggraph these are the tools we showed on the Sun stand and at the Java3D BOF. This release includes 2.0 Beta of the J3dFly and J3dEditor. Java3D Fly Through has undergone some major internal redesign which should make it a much more flexible codebase for users/developers. The features of the tool are dynamically changeable and developers can 'easily' add new features by writting plugins and updating the xml preference files. Existing features can also be removed so you can tune the interface to your requirements. The tool now uses ConfiguredUniverse so you can run on a large variety of display devices (dual monitor, power walls, caves etc). Java3D Scene Graph Editor is a visual scene graph editor which allows users to dynamically build and edit Java3D Scene Graphs in a GUI environment. The tool can also be used to view the Scene Graph in your own applications, without making any changes to your app. See the README for more information on using this feature. The editor is designed as an extensible framework so developers can add new node types and new node editors to the tool. The editor can also be installed into the Netbeans IDE as a Netbeans module in which case source code will be generated from the scene graph. Along with the binary release, the full source is available from the CVS repository. NB Both tools require a minimum of Java3D 1.3 and JDK 1.4 Rgds Paul ---------------------------------------------------------- Paul Byrne Email : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Microsystems Phone : (650) 786 9926 Visualization Software Group Fax : (650) 786 5852 ---------------------------------------------------------- =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
