Actually 'PD' meaning Public Domain may not have been correct here.

I'm not sure of the true status of existing parts, I believe that
they have been distributed so far with very little if not *no*
restrictions, bit I also know that there is work under way to
finalize an open-source like license to cover future distribution.

Not that this makes alot of difference to people reading about Java3D,
but I didn't want to mis-represent the status of the parts library.
