This is something I answered a couple of days ago for someone and I believe this may be your problem as well...it has to do with clipping distances... here is what I wrote:
most likely this is due to the back clipping plane distance...you'll have to reset your views backclip distance: view.setBackClipDistance( 300.0 ); You can also set your front clip distance to bring it close so when you zoom in you can zoom closer view.setFrontClipDistance( 0.1 ); Note: the ratio of the back clip to front clip distances should be about 3000 ...I can't remember the reason but this is a recommendation. In reality I was able to make these distances bigger so you can try it yourself. SO, keep adjusting the FRONT and BACK clip planes till you get the desired effect and still not have issues with your display. Hi all, I'm working on a virtal lab that requires the use of virtual measuring equipments. The the problem is that i can't get near enough of the target objects: they disapear as the collide with the viewplatform. I tried reducing the viewPlaform's transformGroup, wich brings another problem: far away objects disapear. Does anyone knows about this?
