This is a follow-up email regarding Java 3D for the Mac.
Please know that Apple would like to have Java3D and JAI on Mac OS X in the future. We are working with Sun to try to bring it over to our platform. There are currently no announced plans.
In the meantime, there are some alternatives to official Mac OS X releases of these APIs. Many developers have successfully downloaded the Unix or Linux versions of these APIs and simply used the jar files without the accompanying native "performance packs". Developers interested in Java3D should look at GL4Java, a freeware Java wrapper to OpenGL, which can be downloaded at the following location:
