hi ZACZEk..

Thanx very much for your help zac. but like you say i do have cosmo.  but my real problem is..
i want to do a mirror image of an object that was created using a utility that
outputs vrml 1.0...and also  if i use a vrmlscript or _javascript_ to modify certain components of the objects fields within protos, can i still use the negative scaleing of the java3d system to create the mirror image.  or will i have to get into the events of the script i use to get the values.(and modify them again);.
So really. i need to know where to do the mirror image code.. do i do it after
the java3dsystem has created nodes for the vrml or do i do it in the vrml file with scripts or do i do it somewhere inbetween the vrml - 1.0 to vrml2.0 conversion.
or does java3d sort it all out for me from an instance of a proto??????

way i look it is.. there must be certain conventions  either way i might as well do it all at the same time or maybe not. i will persivere and try and get my project
up tp a point whre it is better understandable.
  thanx again cush.

If you simply want to covert VRML v1.0 to 2.0 then you can always use the COSMOPLAYER
to do it for you...I realize that you may want your own coverter.

When you install COSMOPLAYER it will put an executable in your
windows/system32 (I think) directory....it is called:  vrml1tovrml2.exe

I think to run it in windows you have to do:     vrml1tovrml2.exe   originalVrml.wrl > newVrml.wrl

Subject: [JAVA3D] simple java.

hi all.  i have a problem converting VRML V1.0 to VRML2.0..

what i have set up is asytem that i convert with one click of mouse.
like tihs...       click button load.       click button save.

   load is hard coded.
  save is hard coded..

ther are two options in application.  number of components.  model name..

if you dont have right number of components for model you choose it doesnt work... is thathard coded or what???

trouble is..  when i run it from javaworkshop it is fine...

but when i run it from dos. in any drtectory like it was designed for   ... instead of
giving me values for the fields of the vrml file it givres me memory locations.

ps..  i am working on javacc parser but it is alittle beyond me right now.
 here is code anyway.
  polishedirene.
