Hi,

Yes, I'm aware of the VM issue (found out this week end... and was
disappointed)
But I found something on sourceforge this morning:
FreeWRL VRML/X3D browser <http://sourceforge.net/projects/freewrl/>
FreeWRL is an Open Source, cross platform VRML2 and X3D compliant browser,
with script and EAI support. Platforms supported: Linux; Mac OS/X, and other
Unix-style platforms. A Windows port is not yet started, but will eventually
happen.

Hope they'll implement EAI for sun JVM...

I'll have a look at SAI.

Thanks a lot,
Franck

Are you aware that most of the existing commercial EAI
implementations are
still dependent on the old MS JVM and won't work with the
Sun JVM?

The MS JVM dependency introduces additional problems, so not
only do you
have to consider which vrml plugin the client is using
(because each plugin
and EAI implementation tends to behave differently) you also
have to
consider which jvm, if any, is installed and, if it is, will
an applet talk
to the vrml plugin over the EAI...

I wouldn't advise anyone to use the vrml eai in a commercial
product and I
think its still far too early to know if the new version of
the eai
incorportated in the X3D specs ( its now called the Scene
Access Interface
SAI) is going to be a success.
