There are v, vt, vn, and f. f is a face, which may contains more than 1 triangle. But all of the f combined into three list, vertex index list(V/vt/vn), vertex texture list(v/VT/vn), and vertex normal list(v/vt/VN). You just need to create that vertex index list, then use vertex index list divided by 3, and you will get the number of triangle.
