It looks like a bug in the JVM native code, possibly the image decoder. Before you go pulling your hair out - upgrade to to the latest version of java as it appears you are still using 1.4.1.
I do not believe this is a JWS issue but it is possible that using JWS could bring this bug to the surface. Native crashes are unpleasant creatures.
