The FAQ is a bit out-dated. As you may have noticed, Sun is rolling out
implementations of the Java platform primarily for Windows and Solaris. As far
as MacOS support is concerned, Apple has taken on ownership for rolling out the
core Java platform for the MacOS, and Sun is assisting them in their effort. As
far as Java 3D is concerned, we are engaged in conversations with Apple about
extending their support for Java 3D too. But, since JDK 1.2 is still not
available on MacOS; Java 3D is not going to be available on MacOS in the short
term. With respect to JavaOS, support for Java extension APIs on JavaOS is going
to be driven by demand for network computers. Currently, we don't have any firm
plans to support Java 3D on JavaOS.
