If I could see the code to this class I would be able to tell you more
what it sounds like, is that when you set the string, it is not removing the old
geometry and putting a new geometry.
Because, Text2D is just that, a geometry, or Shape3D if you will
this needs to be removed first when you do a set string

that might be a bug in the Java3d code
