Can someone please explain to me exactly what the depth component of
a Java3D Raster is. What is its effect on the display of the image
component of a
Raster?

What is the unit size of the depth measurement, in a DepthComponentInt
object?
Is it meters? Is it in virtual-world coordinate-system at all?
The values in a DepthComponentFloat go from 0..1.   0..1 whats?

If a Java3D Raster with depth and image is in a scene graph node that is
transformed,
does the transformation (if, say, a rotation) change the orientation of
the display of the Raster object?
e.g. so you may see it edge-on etc.
