These people are simply not obeying the new rules for unsubscribing to
the list. I'm sure there are normally this many people subscribing and
unsubscribing from this list everyday -- it is a very popular list.
Hopefully this won't be long term, or perhaps Sun might put in a filter
to bounce these unsubscribes back with instructions on how to correctly
leave the list.

Configure your system to look at the for<> field -- not the To: Most
mail forwarders have this option :)

No, it's not a problem at your end -- just the way email works. It
actually makes it easier for people to use filters in their email
client, so it's probably a good thing to keep.

I'd say we should be glad they provide the resource -- it is not
required by them at all and I, for one, greatly appreciate the
opportunity to communicate with other Java3D-ers.

I can't say I've ever had these troubles -- perhaps you should check
