Don't think so, Daniel. The point is that i DON"T need at all 3D sound support, which is pretty expensive from the point of system resources. What i need is just playing a tune in the background. It shouldn't (and mustn't) be associeted with any of 3D objects in the scene. Moreover, what would i need in the nearest future is associete sound events (to be more correct, JUST to play some sounds when smth happens) with scene action. And i don't what to use "expensive" Java3D sound engine - the program i develop is a real-time one and rendering speed is already not at the top of the best). As to the note about Java3D midi support, i do doubt, since it was me a couple of months ago who asked about future support of midi files, and one guy from Java3D team (Doug Twilleager, if i'm not mistaken. Sorry if i am), said that POSSIBLY they would think about this, that they can do it, but still consider. The main quesion is that he also said as far as i remember that i still CAN play sound files via standard AudioClip interface unless i don't want 3D sound support. That's exactly what i need right now. So, is there any workaround of this problem? Can i somehow turn Java3D sound engine off at all? Or just explain me ,please, how to play sounds via standard AudioClip interface in Java3D. Hey, Java3D team! Doug! Gurus! Any suggestions or explanations?
