Looking at http://www.precentral.net/palm-eos-pixie-confirmed you can
find a package containing an update for the Palm PRE.

The installer is a .jar and as the PRE features OTA upgrades it is
clear it has some kind of JVM inside.

Digging a bit deeper into the jar one finds a Linux file system
structure and in /usr/bin there are start scripts for the Java VM.

Following this scripts you arrive at the install directory of the Java
VM which can easily be identified as an Apache Harmony JVM.

So Java is on the PRE lets hope it can be used for more than just the
installer.
