Just to be clear, this isn't "Oracle answering back" (an official Oracle response), this is a blog entry by a product manager for JDeveloper. Not that I've seen anything official from NetBeans either. I think these are passionate people defending their favorite IDEs, which has been going on for years and will continue to, regardless of what happens at the executive level.
I will say I do find some of the supporting evidence in that blog entry a bit questionable. Searching job listings for mentions of an IDE? I can imagine Oracle shops requesting JDeveloper experience, but what about the vastly larger number of job listings that don't care which IDE you use? And a Survey of usage among SD Times subscribers? I'm not sure that's a random sample of world developer usage - all I can say is I'm not a subscriber, and apparently IntelliJ users aren't either :) -- Tor On Nov 12, 8:13 am, Casper Bang <casper.b...@gmail.com> wrote: > Well, in any event, it's starting to feel like a showdown.
