Casper, your original question to me was about "the prospect of Google cornering the marked, by releasing VP8 which they got from their On2 purchase"
Open-sourcing it is the easy part. Getting some technology partners on board is a practical necessity, and they've done that. But getting anyone outside the F/OSS religion to care and to pick up VP8 in a big way is what I dismissed out of hand. "Cornering the market" with VP8?
