I've listened to the podcast since the first one (didn't catch
javacast though) and have loved it.
I like having Joe's input in the Java/development topics. If this
creates some argument or debate on the topic then all the better!

I don't mind the more general tech topic news (and world cup news!)
being included in the podcast - I imagine most listeners would be
interested in these topics too. However, when it ends up taking up the
vast majority of the podcast then I think it's fair to say that the
balance isn't right.

Yes, there hasn't been much core Java news recently, but there has
still been plenty of developments with frameworks and libraries. I
know server-side stuff isn't really the team's "thing", but for
example, the spring roo - GWT integration announced at google IO was
pretty much glossed over during the podcast. I thought it would
warrant a decent discussion.

Btw, the Java/JVM related sections are great - Android, Scala, Groovy
(JavaFX maybe?).

So, all I'm saying is that I personally don't mind the general tech
news (apple related or not) - it's still entertaining, but just not if
it's to the detriment of Java/JVM news/tech talk.
